1978
Forney International, a US multinational, establishes in Australia at Erina, New South Wales.


1989
Foster Wheeler sell Forney. Jack MacDonald and Gordon Gargano who both had been with Forney since the mid seventies, see a future for the company in Australia with the highly committed team they had built. They make Foster Wheeler an offer to buy the Australian operation, and Gosfern Pty Ltd is born. To go along with the new company, they move to the new premises at North Gosford.


1991
Peter Moran becomes an equity partner in the company.
Jack MacDonald, Gordon Gargano and Peter Moran made up the company's Board of Directors.


The FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) 'Skua Venture' for BHP Petroleum becomes the first FPSO project for Gosfern. The contracts included the supply of gas and oil firing combustion equipment plus safety and automation control equipment.

Export of combustion and controls for the Don Predo Sugar Mills in the Philippines commences. This project marks the beginning of Gosfern's international sales and marketing.


1992
Within four years Gosfern outgrow their North Gosford premises and relocate to their own 2486sqm factory and offices in North Wyong.
In the same year, Gosfern conclude a contract with Woodside to design marine boiler conversions for FPSOs.

In 1992, Gosfern's export sales surpass their domestic sales for the first time. In response to this demand, Gosfern's management establishes offices in Indonesia, the United Kingdom and the U.S.A.

1996
Gosfern wins FPSO 'Maersk Curlew' contract on a Shell field in the North Sea. This first gas firing boiler conversion for a FPSO in the North Sea proves to be an outstanding success. The boiler conversion itself proves to be highly reliable, easy to operate, and at the same time enforces the highest safety standards. This North Sea project is also a testament to the internationally recognized high quality of Australian engineering.


ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Approval is obtained by Gosfern.


1997
Gosfern gains Approval Certificate UDT EC-084 from the office of Technical Inspection for Exporting (Urzad Dozorn Tecnicznego) 'technological burners' to Poland.


1998
Gosfern are recipients of the Premier's NSW Regional Exporter of the Year Award organized by the the Australian Institute of Export Ltd.
This prestigious award recognizes Gosfern's contribution to regional employment and its strong commitment to solid growth in exports, which represent 70 - 80% of Gosfern's business.
Gosfern now belongs to the Top 500 Privately owned business in New South Wales, Australia's most populous state.
Gosfern's focus on turnkey solutions is rewarded by winning the deck boiler supply project on board Trenergy's 'Hiltra' FPSO.
Gosfern obtains membership to the AGA (Australian Gas Association).


1999
At its tenth anniversary, the new office extensions of Gosfern Pty Ltd are officially launched by Deputy Prime Minister Tim Fischer.
In order to cope with the increased demand, Gosfern Pty Ltd has to add more office space for its engineers, draftsmen and support staff. There is also a new boardroom and space for video conferencing. Research and development of closed Cycle Energy Resource Unit (CCERU) starts.

Major contract for Gosfern for the Vasilikos Power Station in Cyprus completed.
Gosfern Pty Ltd becomes an associate member of the NFPA ( National Fire Protection Association).
Gosfern is awarded the Burner Management System replacement on Newport, Australia's largest gas fired power plant. This is also reportedly Australia's first T, AK 6 approved safety system.


2001
Gosfern wins the Engine Room conversion contract for the first of three of Exxon Mobil's 'Generic FPSO' concept.


2002
Five FPSO conversion orders in twelve months result in record turn over and profit.


2003
Gosfern Pty Ltd receives first prize in 'Innovation in Product and Product Design for the Development of the Closed Cycle Energy Resource Unit' (CCERU).

2004
Celebrating Gosfern's Fifteenth anniversary.

2006
Gosfern Pty Ltd becomes Aalborg Industries Pty Ltd.
