History

The company was originally started in 1987, when two sales managers of the company Saarloos Warmtetechniek started Wiesloch Marine & Industries. At the time Saarloos Warmtetechniek had decided to scale down the marine activities. The two sales managers (Ed Zuidgeest and Frank van Weelden) realized the huge potential in supplying thermal fluid installations to the maritime world.

The company proved itself by a steady growth and by convincing not only shipowners in Germany and the Netherlands, but also, increasingly, international shipowners and shipyards of the benefits of thermal fluid.

Aalborg Industries A/S in Denmark had developed thermal fluid heaters during the end of the 20th century and decided to expand its technical know-how and market share in this business area by acquiring the Wiesloch Marine & Industries on the 1 July of 1999.

Aalborg industries BV has been the product centre for Aalborg Industries' thermal fluid systems ever since.

Growth of the company has been steady under the new parent company making optimized use of the contacts and worldwide presence of the Aalborg Industries Group.
