History

The factory was established in 1974 to manufacture small industrial boilers. In 1991, a co-operation began with the Swedish marine boiler company ABB Gadelius who later became co-owners and now supplied marine boilers to China and Japan. In 1995, the Aalborg Industries Group acquired the ABB Gadelius shares and has later become sole owners. Since 1997, the factory has been named Aalborg Industries.

Aalborg Industries Ltd. obtained ISO 9001 certification from Det Norske Veritas in 1997, and marine boilers were soon supplied to Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan.

The present facilities of the custom built boiler factory were commissioned in 1997 with several major extensions added since then.
